How It's Going?

Hi, I'm Maulana Ahmad Aji Triadi, a web developer focused on building practical, efficient, and user-friendly digital products. My journey into technology started with a simple curiosity about computers and how software works. After becoming more interested in programming, I began experimenting with Visual Basic 6.0 and gradually discovered web development. I later built a foundation in PHP, explored blogging and web applications, and spent a lot of time learning by building things on my own. Rather than following a straight path, my early years in technology were shaped by curiosity, experimentation, and constantly trying to understand how things worked behind the screen.

Along the way, my interests expanded beyond programming. I became interested in graphic design and participated in logo design competitions, which taught me to think about the visual and creative side of digital products. In 2018, I decided to take part in a programming competition and placed second. That experience gave me more confidence in programming and motivated me to take it more seriously. It also helped me realize that I enjoyed the process of turning an idea into something functional, whether that meant writing code, designing an interface, or figuring out how different pieces of a system could work together.

I continued that journey at Amikom University Yogyakarta, where I studied and further developed my understanding of software development. During this period, I worked on academic and personal projects while continuing to explore web technologies. My education gave me a stronger foundation in programming and software engineering, but much of my practical growth came from building real projects, debugging problems, reading documentation, and learning from the developer community. Over time, web development became more than just something I was interested in—it became the direction I wanted to pursue professionally.

After university, I moved into professional web development and later expanded into freelance work. These experiences gave me the opportunity to work on real-world applications and understand the challenges that come with building software for actual users and business requirements. I've worked across different parts of the stack, including backend development with PHP and Laravel, frontend development with React and TypeScript, REST APIs, relational databases, and development and deployment workflows. Working on different projects has also taught me that good software is not only about making something work—it is about making it understandable, maintainable, reliable, and useful.

Freelancing has been another important part of that journey. Working with different projects and requirements has pushed me to become more independent, communicate more clearly, and adapt to unfamiliar codebases and technologies. It has also given me the freedom to experiment with different approaches and build things outside of my day-to-day work. I enjoy that combination of structured professional development and personal experimentation because it keeps me learning and gives me opportunities to explore areas I might not encounter in a single project.

Today, I'm focused on growing as a full-stack web developer and becoming better at building software from end to end. I'm comfortable working with technologies such as PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and PostgreSQL, while continuing to explore tools and technologies such as Go and Next.js. I'm especially interested in improving my understanding of system design, developer tooling, deployment, performance, and the practices that make software easier to scale and maintain.

I also enjoy building personal projects as a way to learn outside of professional work. Some projects are experiments with a new framework or tool, while others are small solutions to problems I've encountered myself. I like the freedom of these projects because they let me explore ideas without being limited by an existing codebase or specification. They are also a reminder of how I started: learning by being curious, building something, breaking it, and figuring out how to make it better.

This website is part of that ongoing journey. It's not just a portfolio, but also a place to document what I'm building, what I'm learning, and how my interests in technology continue to evolve. My path into software development has changed quite a bit since those first experiments with programming, and I expect it to keep changing. For now, I'm focused on building useful software, learning continuously, and becoming a better developer with every project I take on.
